Marie Frances is a contemporary figurative painter who thoughfully captures expression and gesture in her oil paintings and graphite drawings. Her paintings of ballet dancers are filled with narrative and emotion and her carefully rendered portraits are alive in spirit and character.
Marie has cultivated her technical mastery for many years studying classical and contemporary methods. The studio shot of Hermes was taken years ago when she was coached through drawing and painting from the classical cast at Manifest Drawing Center. The larger figurative paintings have taken over her dining room which was cleaned up a bit for these photos!
