About

My artistic journey has been a lifelong commitment to slowing down and observing the world with intention. This philosophy was shaped by my formal art studies, which began with intensive, full-time training at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. There, I immersed myself in foundational principles of art, learning linear perspective and drawing from the live model. For the next decade, I continued to hone my skills through weekend and evening classes at the Manifest Drawing Center, participated in weekly figure drawing sessions and took sabbaticals to study in Florence and Rome, Italy. From the soulful expression of a dancer to the quiet vulnerability in a portrait, my early work focused on capturing the deep emotion and spirit of each subject.

Today, my work continues to evolve through a dedicated practice of premier coup studies. These Postcard Paintings represent a commitment to capturing the essence of the world around me—whether a vast horizon, a quiet still life, or the delicate light on a floral arrangement—with a more painterly, expressive hand. This ongoing practice has transformed my process, allowing me to balance my foundational academic training with a newfound freedom of expression.
